Greyskull LP. Session 10

BW - 228

Bench - 195X5, 5, 10

Chin-Ups -
BW+22.5X3, 3
BWX10, 6

Deadlift - 325X8

Dips - BW+30X10, 10, 10

195X10 on Bench is a Rep PR.  Checking video of the first work set, I noticed my right leg was caving in on the leg drive.  Sorted that out on the final two work sets.  The new video angle is paying dividends so far.  This was probably RPE 8.5.

Chin-ups were okay.  BW sets felt much better than the weighted sets.

325X8 is a Rep PR on Deadlift.  RPE 8, but only needed 7 reps for a PR.

258 (BW+30)X10 is a Rep PR on Dips.  These are feeling pretty good.  Still wish my shoulder felt stable enough to go below parallel on these.  3rd set shown.

Reps and Volume. Week 9. Squat

BW - 203

Squat -
BarX10 (paused)
95X5 (paused)
135X5
185X4
225X3, 3
275X7, 2, 3, 3

High-Bars - 205X5, 5, 5, 5, 5

Good Mornings - 135X10, 10

Single-Leg Extensions - X20, 15, 15 (straight-weight)

275X7 is a +2 Rep PR, and an all around PR.  I stalled out on repping 275 in late Feb./early March before moving my focus to conditioning and fat loss for the spring and summer.  I'd been looking forward to working my way back up to the day when I could go for this one again.  I felt good walking into the gym, and the initial warm-ups felt good.  The 1st set of 225X3 didn't feel awesome, so I took a 2nd set and it felt good.  I needed 6 reps for a PR with 275.  The 6th rep didn't feel too slow, to I took a 7th, slower rep.  I also took some video for the first time in a while, and I see that I'm knee caving pretty hard.  That will be something to keep focused on, but I'm very happy to get this 275 goal well out of the way so I can continue the march to 315.

I also upped the weight on my High-Bar "volume" sets.  I didn't know if I'd be able to get 5X5 at the increased weight after all the heavy sets of Low Bar.  Feel good about those.

Now that my schedule has freed up and I can Squat and Deadlift on different days again, I'm able to add GM's back to squat day.  I hate GMs.  But I've felt a lot of soreness in my glutes after lower body days lately, and so I know I need to get some of this kind of work back in.

Was able to push reps on single-leg work a bit, as well.  Just one of those days where you're able to push on everything.

LRB 365: Big-15. Phase 2. Week 2. Squat

BW - 199

Standing Calves - 3 sets of 15

Squat -
BarX10 (Paused)
95X5 (Paused)
115X5
145X4
175X3
225X2
255X1

215X12, 5

Single-Leg Curls - X20, 15, 15, 10

Single-Leg Press - 1ppsX15, 20, 15, 15

215X12 is a Rep PR.  The changes I've made to my form are becoming a bit more natural.  Also, I didn't have the pain in my left quad this time, so that's good.  My right-leg felt like it caved significantly on the last rep of the 12, so I focused hard on 'knees-out' in the back-off set.

Single-leg curls can eat a dick.  Single-leg press was better this time without the quad pain.

LRB 365: LRB Split. Week 5. Squat - Heavy

BW - 197

Squat -
BarX10 (paused)
95X5 (paused)
135X5
155X4
185X3
195X2
225X1
235X1
245X1

Front Squats -
135X8, 8, 10, 8

Leg Press -
2ppsX10
3ppsX10, 10, 16, 10

Lunges - BWX26, 24, 24, 20

Good session.  The 245 moved pretty smooth from way below parallel, but I had some knee-cave just out of the hole.  That hasn't happened in a while, so I'll need to start cuing myself against it.

For Fronts, I decided to see if I could just drop straight down to my work weight, rather than warming back up to it.  Went really well, and got way more volume as a result.  Just an issue of confidence in a movement I've hurt myself on a couple of times before.  I credit using a clean-grip for helping keep myself in proper position.

Last two sets of Leg Presses were max reps.

Lunges were brutality at this point after all the other quad stress.
