Block 5. Cycle 7. Session A.

BW - 222

Squat -
380X2 @9
325X6, 6, 6 @8.25/8.5

High-Bar Squat - 265X5, 5, 5 @8

Bench-Grip Deadlift w/ Straps - 325X5, 5, 5 @8

Mixed session.

Squat top set went very well.  A touch heavier than the days target.  However, I probably should have pulled back on the volume sets.

High-Bars and Wide Grip Deads were fine, but I was completely mentally wiped by the time I finished my low bar sets.  I didn't want to do any more squats, and after squats, I didn't want to do anything at all.

I traveled out of town this last weekend, and I think travel and vacation activities may have contributed.

To this point, available evidence had pointed to a 7 week time-to-peak.  However, the squat top set looks like my second best increase of the block, and my best Week 7 Squat.  Unless Bench and Deadlift convincingly crash and burn this week, I will plan on extending this block another week.

All video is of top sets and final work sets.

Novice LP - Session 12

BW - 224

Squat -
BarX5
120X4
170X3
220X2
270X1
300X5, 5, 5

Bench -
BarX5
105X4
130X3
155X2
175X1
190X5, 5, 5

Deadlift -
135X5
185X3
225X2
280X1
320X2

300X5 is a Rep PR.  Felt good.

I missed my final rep with 190 last time, but I got all 3 sets of 5 this time.  Believe I'm only adding 2.5 lbs. next time.

1st rep on Deadlift felt pretty good.  2nd one was pretty hard.  And I straight gave up on the 3rd.  Just lost my care long enough to set it back down.  I'll go for it again on Friday.

Phase 2. Week 3. Squat

BW - 206

Squat -
BarX10 (paused)
95X5 (paused)
135X5
155X4
185X3
225X2
275X1

245X8, 3

High Bars - 185X8, 8

Fronts - 155X5, 5, 5

Lunges - BWX26, 20

245X8 is a Rep PR.  My phase goal for the weight is 11 reps, so I'll be back at this weight next week.  Felt a bit unmotivated to train today.  The 275X1 felt heavier than it has, and looking at the 245 sitting in the rack I felt completely ambivalent.  In my mind, I was still shooting for the 11 and maybe 12 reps, but in retrospect I'm happy to walk away with a Rep PR.

Actually, I've been nailing my squat goals so consistently with this program, that I'm actually kind of excited NOT to have made my goal this week, and know I will come back hungry to add reps with this weight next week.

Managed to push the reps up on the High Bars.  One way this might go, is to push it to three sets of 8, and then two sets of 10 before upping the weight on these.  I'll continue to go by feel.

Thought I'd be able to push the Front Squats as well, but no dice.
